Lead Pastor -
We are currently seeking a Lead Pastor to join our team and provide spiritual leadership, guidance, and effective communication to our congregation. We are a member of the larger family of churches called the Pacific Conference of The Evangelical Church. click here for more information
Job Description:

Spiritual Leadership:
Serve as the spiritual and directional point person for SHEC, offering spiritual guidance, counseling, and support to the congregation
​
Preaching and Teaching:
Deliver relevant, challenging, and life-giving biblical teachings that resonate with both unchurched and de-churched individuals, as well as congregants with varying views on non-essential doctrines. You will need to ensure teaching aligns with Scripture and the Discipline of The Evangelical Church.

Mission and Values Implementation:
Collaborate with the Church Council, Pastor Parish Relations Committee, and Staff to lead the implementation of SHEC’s mission, values, and goals.
​
Equipping and Empowering:
As a servant-leader, focus on equipping and empowering SHEC's men, women, and youth to grow in their faith and take an active role in the church community.
​
Leadership Experience:
Use your seasoned leadership skills gained from several years of professional/ministry experience in a senior or associate leadership role. Effectively delegate tasks and manage others, always aware of your limitations.
​
Ordination:
Be ordained in The Evangelical Church or actively working towards ordination in the Pacific Conference of The Evangelical Church.

Qualifications:

A seasoned leader with several years of professional/ministry experience in a senior or associate leadership role.

Effective communicator, both as a preacher and teacher, with a strong ability to make biblical teachings relevant and life-changing.

Committed to aligning teaching with Scripture and The Discipline of The Evangelical Church.

Willingness to work towards ordination in the Pacific Conference of The Evangelical Church if not already ordained.

Ability to delegate and manage others effectively while remaining humble and aware of personal limitations.

Appreciation for country living and recreation to foster a deeper connection with our congregation and community.

Church Facilities:
The church campus is centrally located in the heart of downtown Sweet Home, between the high school and the post office on Long Street just a block on the city’s Main Street. There are four well-maintained buildings:
The Worship Center has a sanctuary, administrative offices, an open gathering place with a large beautifully equipped kitchen, and a suite of children’s and adult classrooms, with ample front and rear parking lots.

The Ministry Center is located to the rear of the Worship Center across Kalmia Street and consists of a classroom, a kitchen, restrooms, a covered outdoor meeting space, a large, fenced yard, and a small parking lot.
​
The Gym shares the Worship Center’s parking lot and is accessible from both Long and Kalmia streets. It has a large recreational space with basketball hoops, storage spaces, a commercial-grade kitchen, restrooms with showers, and upstairs classrooms.
​
The Garage is located behind the Gym and serves as storage space of landscaping equipment and larger storage items.
